This award is available to Scouters who render outstanding service at the district level. It is the highest honor that the district may bestow on a Scouter. Every pack, troop, team, and crew can choose one volunteer that most exemplifies Scouting spirit in their actions and in their commitment to Scouting. Each unit determines their own guidelines for their unit. Please only submit one (1) per unit.
This award recognizes Scouters who render outstanding service to the Scouts of Five Creeks through the Cub Scout (Golden) or Boy Scout/Venturing Scout (Silver) program.

This award recognizes an individual who is registered with a Unit and whose child(ren) are no longer of the age to be registered as a youth participant in a Scouting program. Not often do parents continue on with Scouting after their children have aged out and moved on. Fortunately, some have that desire to continue on in an adult Scout leader role, providing mentorship to the next generation of youth and parents. Any information submitted for this candidate must reflect involvement after this person's last (or only) youth aged out of being a youth participant.
This award recognizes an Eagle Scout age 18 through 25 who are not just registered with a Unit, but whom are active on a regular basis leading their Units with noteworthy service. Not often do Eagle Scouts continue on with Scouting after high school. College, employment, and other interests soon take up their time. Fortunately, some have that desire to continue on as an adult Scout leader. It’s a magical force that compels them to follow the Eagle Scout Charge – “to give back to Scouting what Scouting gave to them”. Any information submitted for this candidate must be after the person has turned 18. The selection committee will use no information prior to their 18th birthday.
Additional Requirements:
Be between 18 and 25 years old within the last calendar year
Earned the Rank of Eagle Scout
This award recognizes one outstanding married couple for their dedication to Scouts in the Scouting Program. This couple must have provided the best possible program for the scouts in their unit(s) and/or the Five Creeks District.
Additional Requirements:
Render outstanding service as a couple in our district (in a unit or in district leadership)
have completed position specific training (each)
Only one (1) Couples in Scouting award will be given each year.
The Evan Schafer Scholarship Award recognizes an Eagle Scout whose Eagle Scout Service Project is selected as the Five Creek District’s outstanding project from the year prior to the nomination deadline.
The Evan Schafer Memorial Scholarship honors the memory of a remarkable young man, a dedicated scout, a loving son, and a cherished member of our community. Evan embodied the values of service, dedication, and curiosity throughout his life. Evan achieved the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout in 2016 with a service project at the Avon Outdoor Learning Center, a testament to his commitment to giving back. His years in Troop 306 were filled with countless camping trips, shared adventures with his friends and family, and backpacking across Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico with his father and troop.
Beyond scouting, Evan excelled academically and graduated with academic honors from Avon High School in 2017, earning the National Merit Scholarship Commended Student Award and graduating in the top 20 of his class. Evan’s passions extended to music, where he played oboe in the Avon Concert Band and alto saxophone in the renowned Avon Black & Gold Marching Band. He enjoyed tackling complex puzzles, including solving Rubik's Cubes—often blindfolded—with impressive skill, as well as participating in the Avon Robotics Club. Known for his playful spirit and love of Shrek, Evan brought laughter and light to those around him. He enjoyed playing video games, attending church and participating in the youth group, and cherished quiet moments walking in the park with his beloved pug, Lucy.
This scholarship seeks to honor Evan’s legacy by supporting other scouts as they pursue their educational goals. It represents the qualities he exemplified: dedication to service, a thirst for knowledge, and a genuine love for people. By investing in future generations of scouts, we keep Evan’s spirit of adventure, learning, and giving alive.
This year we will be awarding ONE 2025 Five Creeks District Eagle Scout with a $500 scholarship.

The selection committee will consider all aspects of the youth’s leadership and participation in Scouting, school, community activities, and faith practice.
The Scout may attach additional documentation or letters of recommendation, if desired.
The Five Creeks honoree will be selected the beginning of March.
