Our district has a goal of all unit and district leaders to be 100% trained as possible. Please log into your my.scouting.org account to check on your training status. Visit the Scouting America Training Catalog to register for Learning Plans, take your courses for credit, and keep track of your progress.
Remember S.A.F.E. Guarding Youth (formerly Youth Protection Training) is required every two years for ALL Scout leaders. Your registration is not valid without current training. Also, Weather Hazards Training is required every two years to protect youth from outdoor dangers on your unit adventures.
Be sure to regularly check our district Facebook page for announcements to training events, such as IOLS/BALOO, happening within our council at other local districts and at other Indiana scouting councils.

This training will be held at the Spring Camporee.
Come take IOLS at the 2026 Western Section Spring Camporee! Units need to have at least one adult leader who has taken IOLS at any outdoor event.
You’ll learn how to build a fire, use an axe, cook outdoors, use a map and compass, responsibly care for the outdoors, and much more.
Help provide more IOLS trained leaders to your unit to prevent outings from getting cancelled or cut short by getting yourself trained.
